Who Am I to Teach This Bootcamp?

My name is Genesis Davies. I’ve been a writer since I could dictate stories to my mom, but it wasn’t until I was in my late teens that I realized the potential for earning money by writing online. I started selling articles for $10-20 to a site called WriteforCash.com, back when they still accepted Canadian writers.

Then I started traveling, ended up meeting a wonderful guy in Guatemala and stayed here to start a family with him. I was teaching English and bartending, but neither job paid well (about $1 an hour!). I did some writing online from time to time, but I was busy with life and didn’t even have a computer, so all the work was being done in internet cafes and I wasn’t that motivated.

Once I had my first son, Dorian, I decided it was high time to start pushing this writing thing and I began to work in earnest. I made a LOT of mistakes those first months (stupid stuff like working for $1-2 an article!), but gradually, I learned the ropes and started taking on more profitable jobs.

These days, I get paid considerably more than a buck an article. I have time to hang out with my boys (we now have two little guys), do what I love for a living and still get to have hobbies, well, as many as a mom with two small kids gets to have!

This is where I am supposed to insert photos of my flashy Ferrari, my ten story brick mansion and Olympic size swimming pool. Except I don’t have any of those things.

What I do have is a comfortable little home on the side of a volcano in Guatemala, with jungle right outside my window. I have time to love on my boys, a mostly stay at home husband and a maid who comes in each day.

I’m not rich and I’m not going to pretend that you are going to be either. While everyone would LOVE to make millions overnight, that just doesn’t happen too often!

I have a lot of jobs that really don’t pay huge amounts. They might be for two or three articles at a time. Often a client wants to test you out before they really commit. However, it all adds up and this is something YOU can do, too.
